I know why freepers hate Brokeback Mountain.

I mean other than that they aren't comfortable with their own sexuality. It's because the main characters aren't stereotypes. The two main characters are in fact icons, but not "homosexual icons". They are "cowboy icons" who happen to be two men that have sex with each other. This brought their fragile little, bigoted, terror-filled worlds to a grinding halt. I think they expected to see Jake Gyllenhaal wearing nothing but chaps, a pink boa and cow hide cowboy hat. In fact there were zero gay stereotypes in the movie. The only thing that made Brokeback a "gay themed" movie was the fact that the two male characters were having sex with each other. This scared the shit out of them freepers.

that's a really good point. People in general, but especially freepers, rely on stereotypes to makes sense of the world. Everyone does this, including you and me, but we are willing to change our stereotype when we are confronted with evidence to the contrary. They are not.
