Racism, people jumping to conclusions, people being super judgemental, stereotypes, did I mention racism yet? It really showed the dark side in people. Also makes a great case for BANNING GUNS.

6. It is a fantastic movie! |
|
I wasn't trying to imply I didn't like it; I was just wondering what the OP meant by it being "fucked up." I got the DVD when it came out, and it's really interesting listening to the comments of the producer, director, and Don Cheadle.

10. I think that is part of the reason for the backlash |
|
I think another reason is because of the subject matter.
I read an article about the movie that upset me so much, I can't even explain. I'll see if I can find it and PM it to you.
Nice to see you, E.

11. I think you're exactly right, LSK |
|
Because it's not just white on black rasicm, but every race on every race. And living where I live, in a very racially mixed neighborhood, I see it. Overall, things are pretty cool here, but there definitely are incidences and stuff that are racially based.

13. How I saw it also being from a diverse area was like this |
|
Especially in the Brendan Fraser character that we all have prejudices no matter what we say and do. Take the Ryan Phillipe character too as an example. He was sickened by Matt Dillion's characters racism but he shot and killed the one guy. I thought the acting was phenemoinal too honestly.

He's doing a hell of a job raising awareness in Sudan. I am gonna try to attend the Save Darfur march later this month.

24. I saw it last week for the first time. |

It is a movie that I will have to see many times in order to absorb all of its message. It should be required viewing in public schools.
