I take Atenolol for my blood pressure and was wondering about side-effects. Sometimes, early in the morning I notice a that when I'm almost tawake, it seems like my body forgets to breathe. It's not really a shortness of breath, but i have to take a couple of deep breaths to make up for the lack of oxygen. Is this one of the side effects?
I was given Torprol for high blood pressure, and I was always out of breath when I was on it. I would get winded just walking across the room. I was getting asthma attacks too.
To control high blood pressure, beta blockers slow down your heart so it pumps less blood. No wonder it made me feel really weak. I certainly won't take it again. I'm taking HTCZ now, it's not a beta blocker and there are no side effects.
