The biggest camera, I meant. (Hush your dirty minds now, you.)

Just got it yesterday:

15. Actually,

...that looks to be about the size of the old 4x5's we had to drag around in art school. (Photography minor.) Does it have a bellows? I can't tell. Sweet camera, anyway. And I like your little monkey friend.

:7

Hope you're feeling better these days.

you could turn it in to a street organ- I see a little monkey on it already.

on edit: oops I guess the monkey that appears to be sitting atop your camera is actually suspended from the lamp behind it ;)

20. OK, it's a KA39A-1 aerial reconnaisance camera, vintage 1959.
Edited on Tue Apr-11-06 09:14 PM by Redstone
It shot 12 by 12-inch negatives on a roll of film with synchronized motor drive and shutter. There's even a setting to enter your flight altitude / speed, varying from 1000 feet at 100 MPH to 5000 feet at 200 MPH. Even if I had a 24-volt, 15-amp power supply to run it, it would be worthless; the film transport mechanism is too rusted to salvage. And where can you get rolls of 12-inch wide film these days?

I'm going to pull out the lens (6-inch Wollensak) and shutter, and pitch the rest. The lens and shutter might do something interesting on my Speed Graphic, or serve as a paperweight. We'll see.

But it will be fun to play with, nonetheless.

And it gave me a subject line that MADE you look at the post, didn't it?

Actually, that's a cool acquisition.

Will you be able to find film and shoot it? Or is it sheet film?

in the back! (And I didn't even have the separate controller unit in that picture - it's about half the size of a briefcase its ownself!)
