No recommendations from friends, no research, no having heard clips of it in advance, no nothin'.

You bought it simply because you liked the cover. (Or is that just an old fart's game from years gone by?)

For me, it was this soundtrack to a 60s French musical starring Catherine Deneuve. Plus, it was under $2:

It's actually pretty good!

1. No replies? I guess we DU Loungers an overly-cautious lot.

Here's a few more I bought only because of the cover...

I'm probably dating myself, but there ya go.

ON EDIT: Thrilled with all of them, by the way.

5. Frank Zappa'a Weasels Ripped my Flesh
but for some reason the question made me think of this band....

I can't seem to post the pic of the cover I remember, but it was pretty amusing. I used to have albums by this band in the 80s, and apparently they are still together, as are Girlschool. (also some amusing album covers!)

7. "Whipped Cream and Other Delights"..
by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass.

Sorry, can't post an image. But it's basically a very hot woman, naked, but semi-covered with whipped cream.

I'm sure there are a few old-timers out there who will recall it instantly.

Good album, too, especially if you like that type of Mexican music.

14. I remember this cover vividly ingrained in my teen-age mind ....
It made Alpert a star, and started A&M Records, which made him a fortune.
