3. I wish Bucky, but probably Ace.
Bucky should have been gone weeks ago, IMHO. His performance last night wasn't as bad as some of his previous ones.

2. Ace is toast
Edited on Wed Apr-12-06 10:27 AM by Mike Daniels
I'm sorry but it shouldn't be that hard to sing something that is primarily a chant in the first place.

Watching him get slapped by the band members for suggesting they rearrange the song just adds another nail to the coffin.

5. I much preferred the mic hitting him in the face
and the skulking around the stage whilest singing an ARENA ANTHEM didn't help.

He went first too didn't he? The kiss of death for the short attention span AI fans (like me).

8. Bucky went first last night / Ace was right after him.
Edited on Wed Apr-12-06 10:39 AM by Mike Daniels
Interesting enough, Pickler was third.

I'm wondering if the producers took a guess that people would be watching to see if a train wreck occurred and then scheduled the three weakest contestants to be the first performers in a "let's give the people what they want" moment.

Oh that's right
Bucky needs to go and should have been gone a long time ago.

Ace and Bucky are the easy picks....I hate to say this but I think Elliott might go tonight. He was bottom three last week (I realize that that really just means the people of Richmond Va haven't been calling enough) but I get the feeling that Elliott is so good people take him for granted and last night's song was not very good.

Elliott is clearly the best and most suited for what AI is looking for. Chris is good but he isn't really a pseudo R&B singer which is what they are looking for. Elliott is, he mentioned Usher as his favorite performer :eyes: I could go down the list but Elliott is what this was made for. I heard him singing on the radio show while they were talking about the show...he is really really good.

But that's what makes Idol discussions so lively. I've never liked Elliott at all - he just has an everyman's voice to me.

16. I sort of did too
but I heard a local radio station talking about him (he is from Richmond) and they played him singing and it was a real :wow: moment.

Close your eyes and listen he can really sing. I mean REALLY well.

6. I predict Ace
He's been in the bottom three before more than once, and he had a horrible night.

Here are dialidol's results. They don't often get the one voted off right, but they do get a general feel for the positions.

7. last week dialidol was spot on
They were all over the place in other weeks, so I'm not sure what to think. However, Kellie deserves to go home, but it will probably be Ace.

Usually, 3 of their bottom 4 are in the bottom 3. I want Elliott to go, but he probably won't.

11. My bottom three prediction:
Edited on Wed Apr-12-06 10:47 AM by mvd
Katharine (I hate to say it, but I doubt she got more votes than Chris)

Bucky

Ace (Ace goes)

I think they're right about Taylor being #1. I voted for him, Katharine, Bucky, and Paris - and Taylor was by far the hardest to get in for.

13. Kellie benefits this week from performing above what everyone expected
If Chris had turned in her performance the judges would have ripped him three ways from Sunday.

Actually, let me change that to if McPhee had turned in Kellie's performance....Sorry, but the image of Chris dressed up in Kellie's outfit and squat humping the stage creates bad images in my mind.

Did his uncle catch one of the producers in an embarassing situation in the backwoods (suburbs really) ?

He has NO talent and it can't be his looks.

Anyone?

Kind of a combo of Alan Jackson and the outlaw country. Appeals to me, even if he's not popular here.

22. Could be a "screw with AI" thing....
Didn't a web site last year encourage people to vote for one of the lesser contestants just to screw the system?

Anyone know if there's a "vote for Bucky" movement afoot that would be resulting in him surviving over more talented contestants?

Edited on Wed Apr-12-06 11:24 AM by mvd
I don't know about any "vote Bucky" sites.

Well, it should be an interesting night. We all have our favorites and dislikes, and those aren't going to change. Ace really dropped in my eyes last night based on his own doing - not a board's. No sense in DU's Idol discussions resembling the official Idol boards - lol.

Will see my fellow Idol fans later - probably won't be on tonight.

33. I'd describe most of the performances as "unexceptional"
The only one of real note for either good or bad was Ace's mangling of "We Will Rock You" which is why he'll go home over Bucky (who at least got semi-favorable feedback from the judges)

Edited on Wed Apr-12-06 12:43 PM by azmouse
Both are dreadful.
I don't understand the fuss over Kellie... it must have more to do with her looks than her singing. And really, does AI need two ditzy blonde country singers in row.
