Regret.
Maybe I've forgotten the name and the address
Of everyone I've ever known
It's nothing I regret
Save it for another day
It's the school exam and the kids have run away

I would like a place I could call my own
Have a conversation on the telephone
Wake up every day that would be a start
I would not complain of my wounded heart

I was upset you see
Almost all the time
You used to be a stranger
Now you are mine

I wouldn't even trust you
I've not got much to give
We're dealing in the limits
And we don't know who with
You may think that I'm out of hand
That I'm naive, I'll understand
On this occasion, it's not true
Look at me, I'm not you

I would like a place I could call my own
Have a conversation on the telephone
Wake up every day that would be a start
I would not complain of my wounded heart

I was a short fuse
Burning all the time
You were a complete stranger
Now you are mine

I would like a place I could call my own
Have a conversation on the telephone
Wake up every day that would be a start
I would not complain about my wounded heart

Just wait till tomorrow
I guess that's what they all say
Just before they fall apart

3. One of my favorite New Order songs!
It's such a good one, too. :) Thanks!

I love their stuff, too.

4. I'm glad it's appreciated.
Who are some of your other favorite artists?

I'm a huge Talking Heads and Oingo Boingo fan, as well as The Cure, Depeche Mode, and U2 (Achtung Baby and earlier).

5. Those are great ones too!
Besides the ones you mentioned, here are some of mine (in no particular order): Ian Dury and the Blockheads, Ramones, Psychedelic Furs (early stuff), The Waitresses, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division (duh!), B-52s, The Police (early stuff), BowWowWow, Adam and the Ants, Elvis Costello, The Clash, REM (early stuff), English Beat, Brian Eno, Josie Cotton, Altered Images, Spandau Ballet, Devo (early stuff), Wall of Voodoo, and many more. If I can think of more (there are MANY!), I'll post them. Just about everything I listen to is New Wave or 70s/80s punk. (Yeah, I'm stuck there...but it's a great place to be stuck!)

I love music with a sense of humor (like Josie Cotton's Johnny Are You Queer?). :)

7. Okay you are now my friend.
You like some kickass music (I can't believe you mentioned Altered Images). I am especially fond of Elvis Costello and English Beat. Oh, and The Jam and Culture Club.

I also like a lot of other kinds of music, but these are my 'core'. Do you remember the song "What Do All the People Know?" by the Monroes?

6. I love that song!
New Order is in my triumvirate of favorite musicians: New Order, Nitzer Ebb and Depeche Mode.

Now I need to dust off Republic - thanks!

8. I luv Depeche Commode.
I never got into Nitzer Ebb like some of my friends did but I liked that one song Godhead.

Of course, that's like someone telling me they like 'Burning Down the House'.

:-)

9. "Daddy, what does regret mean?"
Well son, the funny thing about regret is,
It's better to regret something you have done,
Than to regret something you haven't done.
And by the way, if you see your mom this weekend,
Be sure and tell her,

SATAN, SATAN, SATAN!!!
