I went to put chili on my mac 'n cheese tonight, and couldn't. I just
could not stand the thought of eating meat anymore. A piece of beef, or pork has not passed my lips in a few months now...but, I had one can of chili left...

and I couldn't do it.

I couldn't eat a bad death.

1. Well, that's good.
I wish I could be a vegetarian, but I am totally conditioned to eating meat.

Just make sure you do research and do the nutritional supplementing and adjustments you need to do when you don't eat meat. (And that does not just include alternate sources of protein.)

I ate my chili and shells and cheese separately last night.

2. Oh, I am pretty careful with protien and vitamins
we eat a lot of fish.

But, I am at the point where I believe eating anything other than free range (read: expensive as hell) happy, organic, practically were pets...animals is morally wrong.

As a former paramedic, I believe sincerely that we are eating a "bad death."

3. I know what you mean.
About two years ago I was in a restaurant about to have a chicken tortilla salad, and I flashed on an image of hens stacked to the roof in a semi going down the road to their death and I started to cry, couldn't eat my dinner. I very rarely eat meat anymore; it isn't so much that I oppose steak or chicken or pork - I love the taste - but it's the commercial, horrible slaughter of these animals as if they really were nothing but inanimate objects, and the sad condition many live in until they're slaughtered, that prevents me from satisfying my omnivorous cravings.

So, I go for tofu, some shrimp, and fish if it's been caught in a river not too far away from where the restaurant is... with all the commercial overfishing, I can't even feel good about fish.

Eggs are only from vegetarian fed, free range chickens.

I can't stand it either. You're right, it's a "bad death".
