I am a lazy heathen...I'm going to hell |
|
Tonight is passover, and my jewish friends and colleagues are so busy. I read about the holiday earlier this afternoon and it is fascinating. Everything having a special meaning and ancient rules. But it also struck me as being so COMPLICATED. I would go mad having to remember all of the rituals and rules. And doing without bread. I am such a fucking carb addict. I would be a horrible jewish person! I am just a wonderful nothing now.
Before this is turned into a flame war, on Easter I will post something about how fucked up celebrating a guy getting nailed to a cross is. I am an equal opprutunity offender, I guess:D I mean no offence, just some musings from a lazy heathen:hi:
Tonight I was asked if I would work on Friday. I wasn't expecting not to go in, nor did I know it was even a holiday, but then they said that I would get time and a half. Fuck Yeah. That turns into a shitload of money for me...Praise Jeebus:woohoo:
I am so going to hell.

Seders can either be really fun with ones friends and family (we always had non-Jewish friends over), or they can be horrible and boring and drag on while the turkey in you is making you sleepy.
According to my Mom, they went to the Seder from hell this year

I am sure that there are Seders that are a blast...just friends hanging out...but like all holidays with family, I am sure that the stress factor is like Thanksgiving times 10 because God always makes for controversy and loads of arguments. Or maybe it is my dysfunctional family, lol.
I was in a LTR relationship with a jewish guy, and he would always find a convenient time to be out of town on a "business trip" when Passover came along. The relationship was always a source of stress, because he was secretly an Atheist, but had not "come out of the closet". His family were extremely religious, and when they found out that I was not jewish, they essentially had one of those screaming family arguments after I had left. Oy.

Was the turkey stuffed? And with what?
The bread stuffing is so damn good that I cannot imagine turkey without it.
