Well, I hope you don't mind, but I'm hitting you with a triple for the song of the day, all by Cole Porter: "I Get a Kick Out of You", "So Easy to Love", and "Friendship", all from "Anything Goes". My favorite version is the one with Patti LuPone in it. My daughter's high school also put it on and I saw a Broadway performance of it here in Seattle. Thanks for indulging my eclictic musical tastes.

Has anyone or is anyone currently reading "The Stand" by Stephen King? I'm usually not into books like that but this is turning out to be surprisingly good. I understand there are two versions of this book but I'm reading the complete uncut 1138 page version and I'm only on page 300, so I've got a way to go.

.....everyone I talk to says it's a great book. The really sad part is that the book claims the government started the "super flu" and you know what?
I have no doubts what so ever that our government has the ability to do exactly that right now. Just let the average citizens get a good uprising going today and watch how quick some "super bug" would hit.

Isn't it a sad commentary that we have reason to believe our government would do such a thing?

I pulled a print of the Amtrak lines (just the other day) because I know I'm heading down to Ft Lauderdale a few times this year. I was surprised to see a straight rail-line from my home to Gilroy. It did give me something to think about for my drive.

While we were there with Gurudeva we felt kinda insulated, within a bubble, cut off from the rest of the world. In fact when I got back I had no idea of anything that had been in the news while I had been away! We were all very enlivened, which was part of the point of the festival.
