I just remembered it's Good Friday. It's not a national holiday.

Sorry about that.

7. It just popped in my head that this Sunday is Easter, Billy.
As a former Catholic, I SHOULD know that. :-(

2. the kids have the day off from school
but businesses are not obligated to give paid time off (though I think there's some stipulation for workers who want the day off on religious grounds, but I don't know what it is; I imagine it varies from state to state).

5. It varies from company to company....
Where I work, you have to take either a vacation day or personal day if you want Good Friday off.

8. By the way
way to go, posting an attention-seeking thread, and then ignoring everyone who responded to it!

Even to the point of not replying to their PM.

18. I still love you, darlin'.

I know you don't have me on ignore or anything like that. It just takes a lot out of a girl responding to all that attention.

BTW ~ I'm very sorry your neck hurts. I would rub it for you if I was there. :loveya:

9. No. Christians don't seem to know this. A guy at work has been going
around all week saying "Happy Holy Week." When he started, I had to ask what he was talking about.

19. "Happy Holy Week"?
"Happy Holy Week"?!

What kind of weirdo IS this guy? Yes, it's Holy Week for those of the Christian persuasion. Many, many people observe Holy Week by attending church, particularly tonight and tomorrow, many do the stations of the cross, and many do prayer vigils tomorrow and Saturday. I'd call these observances rather than celebrations. Easter is the celebration, not Holy Week.

Who says "Happy Holy Week"?

21. Yes, crucifixion and the Easter vigil are really party-hearty events.
I'm afraid that if someone wished me a happy holy week I'd burst out in laughter.
As I recall there's nothing fun about it until the resurrection.

23. Wish him a Happy Passover
And mark your cubicle with some lamb blood

Kids are on spring break this week here. Too many abscences for Passover and Good Friday otherwise.

25. Its not a "federal"" holiday, its not a legal holiday.
But some companies allow employees to take off, and some close.
