Tom Cruise: "Sex is about the connection." "Meaningless sex sucks."
In the upcoming issue of GQ, Tom Cruise discusses how great his sex life is, saying:

"Sex is about the connection. Great sex is a by-product, for me, of a great relationship, where you have communication and it's an extension of that. Where it's just free. And that's how it should be. It's spectacular. If you're not in good communication with your partner, it sucks. (Meaningless sex outside of a relationship) is really horrible and pathetic and lonely."

It's about time Tom Cruise gave us advice on how to have great sex.

don't make a sound.

5. Not a problem...the reason for the post:
...NOT to agree or disagree with Tom Cruise about what sex should be.

To make it known that I respect the rights of other people to have the sex that they WANT to have, whether I think it's "pathetic" or not.

This little shit has an opinion on EVERYTHING.

That's the reason for the post.

8. yeah, he's (overly)opinionated
but then again, so are most other rich and famous people...why? because people from GQ and Esquire and People and Entertainment Tonight and Rolling Stone are constantly begging people like Cruise or Paris Hilton for interviews just to ask him what he/she thinks about everything....

...and it's part of an overall trend. I'm guessing that you missed the Today show that featured his rant on psychology.

This boy likes to give "advice."

I think Tom's a fuckin' TOOL, but there's no big deal. Big deals aren't allowed in The Lounge. If I thought it was a big deal I would have posted it in LBN and sat back while I waited for the mods to lock it.

Catch my drift?

10. "Opinion on everything" That's the problem there.
My friend and I were discussing the upcoming birth today and she posited a frightening thought--what if Ms. Holmes ends up with post-natal depression?

He'd be tolerable if he'd just keep his damn mouth shut.

Well, and his feet on the floor (Oprah reference).

Well, and maybe his schlong in his pants--if it ever really gets out anyway...

20. Oh, my god...I agree with Tom Cruise.
I'll say this...sex with that special partner IS the best. If you don't have an emotional attachment to that person, the sex is better. Experiencing both sides of the fence, so to speak, convinced me of that.

It's just sort of disconcerting that I find myself agreeing with him on anything.

25. I agree
I'm married now, but I think that if that changed, I don't think that I'd have sex unless I was in a relationship. You (or at least I) can get the same thing from masterbating and don't have the risks of unwanted pregnancy, disease, or social/emotional consequences of casual sex.

28. This statement is full of scientology-speak.
Being "in communication" with your partner means complying with Scientology rules about relationships.

Thus, good sex is only meaningful in context of scientology. ???

43. tom, tom, tom, you're doing something wrong
if you have to have some deep meaningful connection w. a person to enjoy the sex...then you don't really know wtf you're doing, there are buttons you can push and levers you can lever and even if you don't even like the person all that much the sex can be mind-blowing, this is how people end up in relationships with effwads, it's the great sex

all that comment tells me is that either you're a liar or you've never had great oceanic overwhelming sex that completely blots out the importance of your tiny individuality or the tiny individuality of your partner

if i have a good steak, it don't have to be meaningful, it just has to taste good

If meaningless sex were not so routinely condemned, people would indulge in it as a hobby instead of having shitty relationships poisoned by resentment.
