At what age did they stop asking you for ID to buy alcohol? |

I hope it will be a while before they stop asking me.

I'm only 34 now and I just commented recently that I was really ticked off that nobody even came close to ID'ing me anymore.
It's a real ego blow when it sinks in that they are never again going to ask if you are in your 20's!

Of course I buy my alcohol from my mother's liquor store, and I would hope she knows how old I am.

They stopped asking my kids many years ago.
I still get asked in bars and restaurants because before they ask for my drink order, I advise them the tip will be significantly bigger if I get carded.

I've never bought my own alcohol (thank god for roomy :)), but at age 14 I had a girl say she wouldn't date me because I looked 21. x( People still say I look about five years older than I am. Blessing and a curse, I guess.

15. Most of the time I don't get carded... |
|
The only time I'll get carded is when I'm close to campus where there are a bunch of underage people trying to drink. But when I'm at home I rarely if ever get carded at the bar and I just turned 22.

19. I don't remember. I still get ID'd at bars, but... |
|
I haven't been asked for ID at a liquor store in years. I'm 39.
(I will say that I was asked for ID for cigarettes the night before I turned 30!)

If I try to buy alcohol they study my ID quite close.

29. I've never been carded for alcohol... |

One time when all my friends were drinking, but I had a Dr. Pepper because I had to drive 2hrs home, I got carded for my Dr. Pepper.
"Excuse me, what exactly IS the legal age for consuming Dr. Pepper in this state?"
I'm a smartass sometimes.

30. I got carded once when I was like 36 |
|
It apparently wasn't an auto-card, either, because the guy looked at it and went, "Oh, Christ, I'm sorry," or words to that effect.
OTOH, on my 21st birthday I went to three different liquor stores and didn't get carded at any. At the third one I finally said, "Aren't you gonna ask for my ID?" The guy said he knew I was old enough because of my attitude.
