What the-? My daughter's computer screen has rotated 180 degrees! (Help?) |
|
It's a standard MS Windows 95 computer. But the view on her monitor just up and rotated 180 degrees. How odd. I think this is caused by an accidental keystroke combination (I used to ahve smart students who'd do this in the computer lab).
Does anyone know what she needs to do to re-rotate the view?

1. I've only seen it with Intel On board Graphics |

Look for graphics icon on the tool tray (what used to be the lower right corner). Right click and select display modes. there should be one to rotate the screen.
Good luck!
Check that.
Select Graphics Options -> Graphics Properties -> Rotation.

2. Bucky, I had this happen at work. |
|
Bizarro, isn't it? Damned if I can remember, lemme google....
I'll have to keep looking - can't remember what I did. It's an option someplace to have the keyboard shortcut on, and you can turn it back off....

4. Is it a Gateway? I had one do awful things at work. |
|
It means the monitor is totally screwed if that's the case. Is it still under warranty?
BTW, the Gateway I had at work was a piece of crap. We lost two monitors that way. One day, I was looking at my screen, and the image suddenly shifted to the right and stayed that way. The other monitor in the office had the image rotate 180 degrees like yours. :(

5. Have you tried Ctrl-Up? |

That happened to someone at work, and Ctrl-Up fixed it.
Clarification: Ctrl-Up arrow. Not Ctrl-Page Up.

6. Can you just turn the monitor upside down? |
|
fixed!
Seriously, I remember a virus from the early 90s that did something like this. Have you updated your anti-virus program lately?

10. My OS is Windows 2000 Pro but |

I think you may be able to find an option to rotate or invert your display if you go to start > control panel > display > settings > advanced > then find the tab for your graphics card. If it has the options you will probably find them there.
