My mother brings her Yorkie over occasionally. Back when she first started doing this, I had a big male cat named Hamlet. He and my other cat were terrified of the dog at first -- until Hamlet figured out he was nearly three times the dog's size. Then he would just look at her like, "Yeah, right. You're 14 years old and missing half your teeth, and I'm a lot bigger than you. Give me a break!"

ferrets very strictly around the dogs, afraid one day the dogs will realize that they are only one bite. But they terrorize the cats nipping on their paws just to get them to run so they can play tag.
