2. Ouch!!!!
Before I had my scooter I was dependent upon public transit, which sucks in St Louis. I have much more freedom now that I have my scoot.

If you don't have far to travel for work or school, I suggest thinking about a scooter. Mine is a Vespa LX150 and just last weekend I rode it from St Louis to Springfield IL (approx 115 miles one way) and back. The scooter did its job very well as it always does.

I love my Yoda scoot!!!

3. I ride the bus a lot
for just running errands. I don't work or go to school.

It does cost me a lot to fill up but a tank will last me 2-3 months. I only drive when I want to get out of town for the day or I have lots to carry.

Enjoy your scooter. :)

13. 150cc? Do you need a motorcycle license for that in Missouri?
Edited on Fri Apr-14-06 09:40 AM by Gidney N Cloyd
In Illinois you do for anything over 49cc, which is friggin' ridiculous. I'd get a scooter in snap if I didn't have to go through all the lessons and testing.

6. I agree....start riding scooters or bikes
Premium in St Louis is $2.90, so it's not too far off from what you are paying in California.

I am seeing more and more scooters on the streets of St Louis. Today when I was at the pump a guy in a huge truck asked me how many miles per gallon I got and I told him 70 and he said he needed one of them.

8. I need one too. :)
My son laughed at me today when I told him that I wanted a wagon so that I can walk to the grocery store.

Anything to cut the gas bill.

9. *shiver* prices set to reach $1.40 L, which is over $5 per gallon.
If you tell me you need cheap fuel because you have a big country unlike France, I will become upset.
Prices are a little lower right now.

10. $40 to fill my mini
While I'm concerned about the cost of gas, there are other options like the bus or a scooter. I'm already starting to worry about heating oil next year. I spent over 2K this last winter.

12. hmmm
and I was feeling so prescient for all these months since I have a stick-shift on my car! ;)
You know when people ask you how many miles per gallon a Saturn gets that gas is way way up.

I've seen a lot of scooters since gas prices went up.
