Dog, whatta great day
After all the stupid rain, spring finally got here — 75 degrees, no wind, a few wispy clouds. Beautiful pink sunset.

I finally got some yard work done that'd been backing up because of the rain. The neighbors were out, too, and when I got finished I went over to say hello. Hung out on their deck for a couple hours, had coffee and chocolate cream pie and talked and talked until well after dark with a full moon rising over the hills in the east.

Their 14-year-old granddaughter is taking guitar lessons from John Garcia, who used to play with John Lee Hooker, and her dad's got her into Clapton, Pink Floyd and all kinds of other good stuff. I loaned her my Pink Floyd "Delicate Sound of Thunder" concert video.

I also listened to three ball games. Dodgers romped, Giants split.

I love days like this. :bounce:

I hope to have lots of days like that when I can find a decent paying job that gets me home every night.

4. Yes, FINALLY we had a day of sun! It was gorgeous.
I spent the afternoon at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk with the kids, since they're on Spring Break this week and it was the first day of sun in forever. They got season passes for Christmas from Grandpa, so they're really into that scene. We had a lot of fun and I actually got a bit of a sunburn on my neck.

The full moon is gorgeous tonite....

:hi:

5. I haven't been to the Boardwalk in forever
You ride the Giant Dipper? I love that sucker.

It was really great in the old days, when they had the Fun House. You could stay in there all day for 50 cents and go down the giant slide over and over and over and over...

6. Sadly, we didn't ride the Giant Dipper, although I wanted to.
My 12 yr old son is just NOT a fan of it, although he has tried it a few times.

My 9 yr old dtr really wanted to, but my neck was a bit tweaked and I was being extra cautious, so I didn't join her and she didn't want to go alone. As a rule, I generally LOVE rollercoasters and esp. the Giant Dipper.

Gawd, sometimes I feel really old... x( sigh.... I told her we'd do it next time we go, for sure.

I took tons of pix, though...It was a gorgeous afternoon.

7. Word
Put some pavers in, swept the front, went and bought some sand, put the potting bench on the back porch, mowed, and lazed around and soaked up the sun. :D
