Edited on Fri Apr-14-06 10:46 AM by fleabert
It was there almost all day. I couldn't look at it for more than a second, but it seemed round, yellow/orange-ish and REALLY bright. It moved very slowly across the entire sky yesterday and seemed to turn our normally gray sky this weird color of blue! It also seemed to cause a weird multi-colored arc in the early am.

Freaky! :scared:

I got a pic with my phone- lots of people were out at the beach trying to figure it all out!

1. Yeah, it was scary.
But not to worry, we're back to normal today.

2. depressing, isn't it?
seriously- we need this shit to end, badly.

the in-laws called yesterday to make sure we are still firmly planted on our hillside. They saw the blip on national news about the poor man who was killed yesterday. :-(

3. Orange?
If not for the different colors (we had one of those in Minnesota yesterday--but it was yellow!) I'd say we had similar sighting in the midwest yesteday.

Frighteningly enough--it's back again today! B-)
I'm looking forward to picking up my new prescription sunglasses!

:hi:

4. lol.
i always drew it as both orange and yellow as a kid- funny how we all see it differently. I amended my post to reflect my color issues! (dh always laughs because he sees blue where I see grey sometimes, and I see brown where he sees grey- shades of each blend I guess)

5. My new shades would probably destroy your world then
The lenses are grey with a blue mirroring/anti-fog coating--so would that be blue lenses with a gray coating, or, now wait minute--I'm confused now!

Can I have lunch? ;)

7. Rest easy
It's playing hide and seek today. I don't think we could take two full days with the big orange exposed.

9. It was really weird
I wasn't sure what to do with myself with no rain. And it was very bright. Strange and uncanny - I think it had something to do with global warming or maybe alien invasion. Not sure.

It's overcast and rainy now - back to normal. Phew!

People were running around howling "it burns! it burns!"
