Mostly wrong, sometimes hilariously so, but fascinating anyway. Something fun to read if you have the day off today.

3. I saw those too..
I think they were some kind of transcription or HTML errors. I doubt they were originally typed that way.

2. Fascernatin' Thanks Redstone!
I miss those orbiting space stations

Seriously, what happened to the Mexican oil industry? Did US companies buy all the fields, or did they not pan out?

4. Nailed the entertainment conglomorates head on
And quite accurately, too: Sony and BMG (formerly RCA) are quite powerful and do control a lot of what we see and hear.

If you'll excuse me, I'm finishing off my Beta-Mix tape. :P

5. One thing they didn't predict
was the gradual decline of new age bullshit.

These articles are full of it, and are quite humorous as a result

6. From "Future Sounds"
Gregg Turner–lyricist and singer for The Angry Samoans; sometime rock critic: "There are a couple of trends that I see. One is the trend of kids getting stupider and stupider and less aesthetically involved with music. The other trend, is that record industry A&R executives and all their buddies in publicity and promotion will be equally stupid and uninvolved. What that will dictate is that artist involvement, as such, will cease to exist as we know it today. All that will matter is what the industry people consider to be viable product. Musicians and writers won’t be needed. All that will be needed is a worthy factory to reproduce what's been successful."

I think he called that one pretty well.
