I'm now responsible for the little critter. He's cute, but I don't like cats. The last time I dealt with a feral cat and three kittens in my home it cost me scars on my hands and arms, unwanted stress, and several weeks of feeding them. Cat lovers, please keep your cats inside and spay or neuter them.

1. How old is it?
I've "inherited" a momma cat & five kittens, so I hear ya. Mom is getting tamer, but is still feral as all get-out. She does let me look & handle the kittens for a short time, though. However, it's off to the shelter tomorrow because I have too many animals to deal with already.

If the kitten is young enough, you can socialize it so it won't be feral. :)

4. The little critter won't go feral, I won't allow that.
Between cars, dogs, disease, and cat haters, feral cats lead too harsh a life.

7. Orange kitties are special
I have 2. My aunt swears that orange kitties are the clowns of the cat world. Not so sure about mine, since all they seem to do is eat & sleep, but if I'm not feeling well (or one of the other cats isn't feeling well), the female orange cat appoints herself as "head nurse" and will lay next to me or ON ME and purr loudly "GET WELL DAMMIT." ;)

You are such the fucking softie. Especially considering your feelings on stray cats.

A toast...to you. Hopefully, you'll socialize this little one enough to not be feral.

8. If you have a "Pet Smart" CALL them..
Ours has "adoption day" every Saturday morning.. It would be worth taking the little one to a vet to make sure it's not sick, and then take him/her to Pet Smart.. They will find it a good home, and you won;t have to try and catch/neuter it.

9. Our little Emma Rose was a feral.
At least we think since we found her after really bad storms from a hurricane that rolled up the east coast in August of 2004. I found her under some bushes in the property across the street from my house. she was all wet and cold. She only weighed .7 pounds when we took her to the vet. The vet estimated her to be about 10 days old. Never saw Mommy cat maybe she was getting moved since she couldn't walk very well by herself. Anyway she is the sweetiest kittie we have right now.

16. Your local animal shelter will also make sure it gets a good home, will
check its health and give it all the shots it needs.

They're not going to kill it. Let the professionals handle it.

17. When I checked about the last ones they...
said they couldn't accept anymore at that time. It may be different now. Once when I took in a stray they tried to charge me for abandoning "my" cat. I explained that dog won't hunt.
