I'll be getting the CD I'm Not Dead for my birthday. Have to save some CDs for then, and I'm Not Dead is worth waiting for. "Stupid Girls" has fine lyrics, but the sound is the most removed from the rest of the CD. And I love how she can do several styles effortlessly on one CD. Her rock voice roars, and her ballad voice can send goosebumps. I can't think of anyone in modern pop with a stronger voice.

Try This is quite the underrated CD; I think I'm Not Dead at least equals it - but not sure I can pick one over the other.

4. I heard "I Have Seen The Rain" earlier today

which is a good little anti-war song that her father wrote in Vietnam and which they perform together. I'm also impressed with "Dear Mr President" and "Stupid Girl" - it's great to see some politics and opinion in pop.
