I got some bookshelves I wanna get rid of, and I don't care about getting anything for 'em. I just want somebody who wants 'em to come and get 'em. I remembered there's a site for that kinda thing, but I can't remember what it's called.

5. Craigslist scares me
I'm always afraid that whatever I post or whatever forum it's in, some guy's gonna send me a photo of his cock. :scared:

6. the for sale section is very benign!
I have run into no cock or friday flash on the for sale section, ever! I have done tons of cl transactions- bookshelves, a desk, knitting stuff, kitchen shelf, a chair...and I have sold TONS of stuff! my garage sale went fantastic, no ads anywhere else except my own neighborhood stop signs.

25. the little bit that runs a few miles from my home, and practically
underneath my husbands office is MINE! so, two bits of the San Andreas are mine. although I claim no liability if it decides to slip violently at any time. :-)

26. No, none of this "I claim no liability"
because you've just said as clear as day that it is YOUR fault!

So now I get to blame you. It's your fault.

20. lol, that sure does sound like Craigslist!
But, I have successfully bought, sold and given away many many many things by using Craiglist. Especially good for getting Giants tix last minute!

8. Call your local Habitat for Humanity affiliate
See if they have a Re-Store that sells used building materials, appliances, furniture, that kind of thing. If they do, they'll probably come pick it up at your convenience, and I know you are a fan of the organization.

:hi:

18. I don't think there is a H4H in these parts
S'pose I could google it, though.

Dog knows I'd prefer to give the stuff to someone who really needs it.

9. Freecycle is great
I had to empty out my mother's apartment recently. All gone in two weeks. Owl collection, tons of greeting cards, furniture and lots of little stuff all went to good homes.

11. Can you search through all of Freecycle's database
Edited on Sat Apr-15-06 11:24 AM by bushwentawol
for items you're looking for? Or do you have to join local groups and then only be able to search them? If you're looking for a certain thing and someone 1000 miles away has the only one you'd never find it.

13. I think you have to join each group
They try to keep out the riff raff (spammers) so they require you to join.

16. Ok thanks.
It'd be great though if they had at least a state group to join or be able to search for an item for more than a 100 mile radius of home.

14. Actually that's not a bad idea
Many landfills/dumps these days have recycle areas. Even my little one in the Napa Valley has a recycle area.

15. Might try a local thrift store. They'll take them for free.
I know St. Vincent's will pick up. Sometimes Goodwill and Value Village (through ARC) will pick up also.

24. I used craigslist to get rid of a mattress few weeks ago.
It's amazing how many people wanted it! Worked fine for us. A guy came and got it -- no problem at all.
