Heart. attack. (compliments of JackMN) |
|
So my day started like this:
I get up, leave the kids watching tv in the living room, do a couple things, and go to bathroom. I get out and am about to grab my make-up stuff, and the doorbell rings. A woman is calling "Hell-ooo!" into my house. I've never seen her before. That's because she's a stranger who was driving by, when she found Jack (clad in a diaper and shirt) sitting on the curb next to the street, rubbing a tree. The little buttmunch got out of the house, and had been sitting by the road (on a through-street)for who-knows-how-long. Talk about a bad Mommy moment. Ugh. I was freaked AND embarrassed. Thank goodness she found him, or he might've been out there awhile before I even noticed he was gone! Gah!

Rename him Houdini...
Glad he's ok. My kids used to do that occasionally...
Now I leave the door open and hope they leave :D

I've no doubt that if the spirit moved him, he'd just wander right out into the road. :scared:

You know good and well you are a great mom - and one who describes the everyday ups and downs of life with kids in the funniest narrative about domestic life since Erma Bombeck.
You're funnier, in fact, because you cuss and admit you like sex, just like er, um, some other mommies I know!

That's the highest form of compliment! Thanks! If I couldn't laugh at them, they'd drive me nuts. I would guess that having a poor sense of humor and being a parent would be a lousy mix.:P

6. Honey, I am so in your corner on this. |

My son was a regular houdini. We ended up putting slide bolts at the top of each door that led to the outside. It confused him enough that he eventually gave up.
Kids. At times, and this morning is one of those times, I wonder what was I thinking?

They're a major p.i.t.a., but then, so is finding your half-naked toddler on the boulevard.

Sounds like a cat I used to have who figured out how to unlock and open the backdoor of my parents house years ago. ;) Ok, maybe not QUITE like a cat.
Is he five? :D

I'm glad Jack was brought home. Kids are curious; Jack was just watchin' the day go by. You're a good mom.

16. A friend's three year old did that...in the middle of the night. |
|
He unlocked the front door and took himself out for a walk. Thankfully, someone saw him and took him back to the house with the open front door. The parents were sound asleep. It doesn't take much for these little knee biters to disappear. It happened twice at the mall with my son, once when he was two and again when he was four. I think it shows a certain independence of spirit...hard on the parents, though.
