Lost fans-who will die? (Specs and poss. Spoilers)
Edited on Mon Apr-17-06 12:17 PM by xmas74
Someone on here posted a couple of weeks ago that it will be Locke and Charlie buying the farm.

Now I've read different info-first of all, they have screen caps of Kate digging a grave (proof of a death). Secondly, the producers want to get rid of Michelle Roderiguez (Ana Lucia). IMO, she's a given to die this season.

Now, specs.
The boards are saying the top three choices for extermination this season besides AL are:

Michael
Alex (Rousseau's daughter, possibly because she did help the castaways)
Rousseau

I'm looking at some interesting threads about it. Anyone have something more definitive?

(just adding some specs as to why The Others want Walt so bad. Psychic ability is possible but the big one is that Walt is a conduit for the magnetic energy on the island. Interesting.)

1. Maybe Sayid?
It doesn't seem like the writers have had much for him to do lately besides beat the hell out the Other in the hatch.

2. Sayid is not in most of the specs.
They have diagrams up of Buddhist Dharma Wheel of Life. They've connected him into the wheel and not in a good way.

I'll go back through and dig up the links about how each of them connects to the wheel. It's really interesting.

3. I'll have to check out the boards then.
I was just wildly speculating. I don't think the show would be nearly as much fun to watch without Locke though.

4. Kristin from EOnline states that it will be two women who die.
I don't always trust her but that makes it a wild toss as to who.

Interesting thing about Locke and the Wheel of Life: supposedly in the middle is Evil. The entire island is plotted out in the Wheel of Life. And guess what is the focal point, the middle of the entire island? The Hatch. And who is overly fascinated w/ the Hatch? Locke.

Some of the specs are saying that Locke is not the good guy that people believe him to be.

6. Here is a link to the Wheel of Life.

I checked out the link at Sucks a while ago but the link is now broken for the diagram of the island (someone's damn photobucket!). I think it was also on The Fuselage so I'll check there for the rest.

8. 2 women?
Pretty soon there won't be any females left on the Island.

The women have always been heavily outnumbered by the men.

My picks would be for Ana Lucia (she doesn't seem to have much purpose on the Island -- in fact, she never has. She just kind of mopes around, not doing much of anything) and for Claire (she also doesn't seem to have much to do and it would be very interesting to see what happens to her baby if she dies. Who would look after it? Charlie? Locke???).

I would also be curious to see what happened if Sun died; that would leave Jin alone on the Island without anyone else who speaks Korean. However, seeing as she just got pregnant, I doubt they're going to kill her off so quickly.

30. There is something to him.
According to the wheel, in the middle is the snake, the cock and the pig. I wonder which one he represents?

One person I work w/ stated that it wouldn't be any explanation that difficult. I told her that it could easily be and then some. The writers are very intelligent and would do just that.

the DUI's might mean jail time also so I guess they don't want to mess w/ her anymore.

Plus, her character is not well-liked.

37. This cheers me
I had such a visceral dislike of her character. And then, she was on the ELLEN show and she was wearing a ring on her wedding finger. Ellen asked her about it. She said she married herself. Ellen gave her quite the look. I mean JEEZ-that says it all. And yes, I've given myself nice jewelry when I was single but c'mon-marrying yourself? OH I will enjoy her being hatched off the show.

10. I think Ana Lucia's a goner
If two women are gonna die, then I think it'll be her and possibly Rousseau. Rousseau's kept herself alive this long now, but I think her luck may have run out. Probably some dramatic scene where she gets to see Alex one last time before she dies.

Locke is too central to the story to kill him off. Charlie's kind of useless, so he may die at some point. Ratboy "Henry" should die, IMO, but he's got info on the Others that could prove valuable, so unless he dies in an accident or kills himself, he won't go now.

Ana Lucia and Rousseau.

23. It should be interesting at the end.
And they don't think the deaths will be the end of the season. They think they will be the second to the last eppie of the season and that the final ep of the season will begin w/ a standoff, led possibly by Michael, against the Others.

19. Top bets are Ana Lucia and Rousseau
right now on the boards.

The spoilers are comparing it to the Buddhist Dharma wheel of life and, according to them, the mother and child are important aspects. That would mean neither Claire or Sun could die at this time.

13. Ana Lucia and
"Henry Clay."

They're going to seek to trade 'Henry Clay' for Walt. I feel relatively certain that he'll be killed at the last minute (even if the Others do agree to an exchange, which is unlikely) and they'll be back at square one about the entire Walt situation.

20. Someone on a board, who so far has had excellent info
(pics and all), has stated that Henry might have a few appearances in Season 3.

Top bets on spoiler forums have been Rousseau and Ana Lucia, w/ Alex running a close third (since the 2 women info).

24. The most dramatic for me would be baby Aaron dying
given that Sun is now pregnant. Can you imagine the drama? First that a healthy baby died and that another island inhabitant is now pregnant? And of course a baby or a child dying is something very frightening to every parent watching the series. And there there was the episode where Claire thought Aaron was sick, which I think was setting us up for something.

Possibly this would explain why Kate would be digging the grave. She always seems to be looking to channel her energy somewhere and she might be the only one that would feel the need to do something "productive" if someone close to her died. I really can't imagine who else she would dig a grave for except for maybe Sawyer or Jack.

I have long held the belief that the Others or Dharma has been searching for their Jesus....And that Walt and Aaron weren't Him, hence the need to enter the Sun pregnancy theme.

My two cents :)

25. One of the specs said, for reasons of the grave,
Alex and Rousseau. If mother and daughter both died someone outside would have to dig their grave. And though Alex is an Other she seems to be good so they would want to bury her in their cemetery.

And baby-wise the graves in the pics I'm seeing are big-big enough for an adult. I don't think it'll be Aaron.

Normally this board is wellknown for spoiling Survivor and Amazing Race but they've been spot on w/ Lost this season and they are now quoted on the other Lost spoiler boards.

(FWIW-new info there says that it's Ana Lucia and Alex who buy the farm and that Libby has a connection w/ Desmond)

31. Ana Lucia probably
For starters, Michelle Rodriguez will likely be going to jail at some point in the near future, and given that a show like Lost requires its actors to work 15 hours a day much of the year, this creates a problem. Plus, her character is not very well liked by many people. I personally couldn't stand her at first, but she has softened somewhat and so has my attitude towards her.

No way will Locke be dying. The rumor you cite above was the result of an April Fool's Day article that got all the fans worked up but turned out to be completely bogus. Locke is considered by many to be the soul of Lost, he is the only one with any serious grasp of the mystery that is occurring around them. The rest of the castaways are aware of it but none of them attempt to solve it as he does.

Charlie? I doubt it. He very well may die at some point but I don't think it will be anytime soon. There is still too much unresolved stuff regarding his character. My guess is Ana will be the only one.

32. I had heard of it being an April's Fool joke
but cited it in case someone could actually come up w/ a good reason for either of their deaths.

But the spoilers are now saying that it will be two female deaths. Interesting ideas as to who but I'd bet on AL. MR is in too much trouble legally and she's supposedly not a joy to work w/.

Also, supposedly a spoiler found a page of script that had blown away. Normally I'd dismiss this but someone also found a page last year and it proved to be accurate. They've posted the page-scanned it onto a board-and it shows a previous link between Libby and Desmond. I'm thinking that means that Libby has much more backstory to tell, besides the time in the mental ward.

39. You're welcome!
Normally I wouldn't buy it either but the person who posted it has given some great spoilers in the past. S/he lives on the island where it is filmed and often has caught things that weren't supposed to be known-set locations, timetables for each character(can predict which episode will emphasize which character), basic backstories, etc.

The poster has also talked to workers in various areas(like restaurant owners when they are doing shots in a restaurant, for example) and can sometimes get an idea of what's happening. Also, someone on another board living on the island had one of the callsheets blow in their backyard last season. She realized what it was but thought it was a dummy. She posted it anyway. Turns out the callsheet that she found was correct.

I'll be interested in seeing if this is the real deal or not. They've been good so far and they are well respected right now.

44. There are interesting theories about it.
One of the big theories is that babies, children and people that are "good" are easier to work with, easier to have open their minds.

One theory is that Dharma is a utopian society that is studying psychic abilities.
