4. Someone actually asked me once who my favorite Backstreet Boy was... |
|
Um.................. THE FIRST ONE THAT DIES!!!! Same goes for Nsync, and all the others... that was a nightmare period in music history, the boy band years. :puke:

5. That's pretty much my feeling as well |
|
This poll was inspired by a conversation I recently had with someone who insisted that The Backstreet Boys are far superior to 'NSync and proceeded to tell in great detail as to why that was so.
They seem pretty indistinguishable to me, both equally bad. :puke:

the BSB are better singers IMO. But both are boring. I DO like the Click Five, but kind of guiltily. I rarely feel guilt with music, too.

12. Well, given I was discussing this burning issue with... |
|
a seventeen year old it's quite possible that she was unaware that any other boy bands existed, so I apologize for leaving out those other gems of musical genius.
Good call on the Monkee's btw.

from more recent boy bands like NKOTB, 'N Sync, Backstreet Boys, and 98 Degrees. I agree though that distinctiveness is a problem with today's boy bands.
I think Hanson was mediocre at first, and broke above the rest later. I admit to liking newer Hanson.

Never liked the song even though there's more to the lyrics than seems at first.
Anyone remember Boyz II Men? They have definite vocal chops, though sometimes I could take or leave the songs.

16. Depends on the definition |
|
I think of "boy band" as a manufactured kind of thing. But if The Beatles are included. they are my #1 artist ever!

18. I don't think it counts if the band members have genuine skill and talent |
|
so, really, the Monkees only count for the first part of their career. They did eventually learn to play their own instruments and wrote a few of their own songs.

Also, some boy bands sound like vocal machines. Not true with the Beatles or even the Monkees, who I like a lot.

Was never a fan, but they were a bit different in a time when they were competing with BSB and 'N Sync.
