New pics from Tennessee. (dial-up warning)
Harleydad just uploaded these for me. He says it smells as good as it looks ... nice and fresh. :loveya:

Those are our woods on the left (east) ... but the cows are on the other side of the fence. :D

Our western woods are on the right.

The view out the front window will be a sort of combination of this and the previous pic.

Another pic of the woods. :loveya:

This is the view from the road to the south of us. Our spot is the place with the little trees ... and woods on each side. (The house is the neighbor's.)

Here's what it looked like in January, when we bought it.

I'm SO excited! Thanks for sharing our joy! :loveya:  :grouphug:

1. Pretty pictures
My grandparents on my dad's side lived in Putnam county Tennesse near Cookville. Your pics remind me of their place. They are both gone now, but they lived their golden years in the place of their birth which is the way they wanted it. I miss them and I miss Tennessee.

Signed,

Droopy- Ohio boy.

I don't know if that little birdie is going to get me into trouble or keep me out of it.

But, we'll have fun.

It just gets prettier all the time ... and it is VERY relaxing! We had a picnic there in January and harleydad said it makes his soul feel good. I didn't want to leave.

13. A few questions:
Have you just bought the land or is there a house to go along with it? Or is the house in the process of being built?

17. We bought the land in January.
And we're building a house like this:

http://www.architecturalhouseplans.com/home_plans/home_plan_detail.php?plan_id=20 ... only we're going to reverse it and put it over a basement.

The builder can't start it until September, but we're signing the contract this week so we can get on his calendar. And we needed to sell the house here in order to have enough money. We'll have to rent something up there until the new house is ready. It promises to be a stressful, but exciting, year. Lots of things to worry about, but we're checking off the list one at a time.

Thanks for asking.

I hope I don't make Mrs. V. cry. Maybe she'll feel like she's there if she sees them and will feel less homesick.

Thanks for looking. It's nice to have my DU friends to share with. :hi:

Let me join bigwillq in congratulating you on 100 posts! :toast: :bounce: :woohoo:

You're from Tennessee? I wonder ... why do people leave?

The property is in Chuckey, which is between Greeneville and Jonesborough -- not too far from Johnson City. I'm jealous of harleydad that he gets to be there now, but I'm really glad he sent these pics.

33. Just gorgeous!
Those photographs are worthy of desktop wallpaper or screen saver status! I truly miss the greenery of that part of the country. When my friend and I drove across Tennessee, in 2001, I remember being so excited to see forests and farmland, and actual water in the river beds! You're very lucky to live in such a beautiful area, AirmensMom.

Thank you.
