Happy Dyngus Day, DUers!
:hi:

"What is Dyngus Day?" you ask. See, if you were from Western New York, especially Buffalo, you wouldn't ask that. Okay, here's help.

If you come from good Polish or Hungarian stock, you probably know about the goings-on on Easter Monday. My grandma used to talk bout the boys going around and sprinkling (or dousing)the girls with water on the day after Easter. The novelist Kate Seredy describes the custom in her children's novel The Good Master, and according to Seredy, the girls gave the boys colored eggs. Hm.

And I haven't even gotten into the Polish customs involving pussy willows.
