I'm home from hospital ...again!

And I hope to never have to go back to hospital. The PICC line I had in caused an infection, hence the high temp and chills. It got a LOT worse before it got better. The infectious disease Dr said it was Toxic Shock Syndrome after 2 of 3 cultures came back positive. The ID Dr doesn't believe in giving meds for high fever, preferring to "let her cook" as he put it. I didn't reach 105F but I did get to 104.3F
Anyway, enough info. Thanks for all your good wishes once again. I'm home, no PICC, no TPN and hopefully NO MORE problems. I'm scheduled to go back to work tomorrow. (Wednesday)

Your experience sounds like several my mom had when she had a PICC line in for her feeding tube (she has trouble eating).

24. I just spent a long weekend with mom (and the rest of the family)

She is very tired, but thinks a lot of that is the side effects of one of the meds she's been on. The two side effects she's feeling are extreme tiredness and a bad taste in her mouth. She's going to go see the doc this week, to see about getting the med changed.

She spent most of the weekend lying down, though not always sleeping. I'm hoping she can get the meds changed and get some energy back.
