In memory of the 1906 earthquake -- book suggestions?

I know that there's already a San Franciso thread for today

... but I thought I'd focus more on the long-term social and cultural impacts. Have you ever come across non-fiction or fiction which describes the quake?

Some examples:

Non-fiction biography -- "The Judge's Wife: Memoirs of a British Columbia Pioneer", by Eunice M. L. Harrison, 2002. This book describes life in 19th-century British Columbia, but at the end there's an eyewitness account of the author's visit to San Francisco, which was interrupted by the earthquake.

Fiction -- "Locked Rooms", by Laurie R. King, 2005. This is part of a series which uses the premise that Sherlock Holmes was real, and ended up marrying a young American woman. Her family had survived the earthquake, but she's had a rather troubled past, and it turns out that something which happened in the disaster's aftermath is at the root of it.

"Boston Blackie", by Jack Boyle. I hadn't seen this one for a long time, but I faintly recalled a scene which takes place in the camp set up by the survivors. I think the book is now out of print, but this other website seems to confirm it ...
