PIC POST--your favorite rock n roll images here
and maybe a word or two about the image and why you like it.

Being one of the resident old fogies, I'll go way back and start with one of my favorites

So come back Woody Guthrie
Come back to us now
Tear your eyes from paradise
And rise again somehow
If you run into Jesus
Maybe he can help you out
Come back Woody Guthrie to us now

7. The Stooges
Edited on Tue Apr-18-06 05:17 PM by no name no slogan

Cover shot from their self-titled 1969 debut album.

No way to explain it. You either got "Funhouse", or you didn't.

58. I've got the Rhino "Funhouse Sessions" CD box
they released a few years back. It has a fold-out of the gatefold and a couple other band photos from the session. Very cool pick.

And the box is pretty cool, too. Probably overkill for most people, but it's still a lot of fun to listen to 30+ takes of "Loose", and hear the song evolve into the take they used on the record.

57. A few from my personal collection
Since my favorite hobby is rock and roll photography I'll post some of my own shots.

Henry Rollins at Twisters in Richmond Va. about 1990 or 91.

Local band The Noisehood from 1997 or 98.

The Circle Jerks at the Superbowl of Hardcore in DC 2002.

Fugazi at Twisters in Richmond, probably 1989 or 90. Yes my record keeping sucks. :dunce:

I have some better than these but I'm way behind on scanning stuff.

A couple not by me.

My favorite Joe Strummer shot by Bob Gruen.

And Nirvana by Charles Peterson.

Oh, and edit note:

Who still doesn't get goosebumps when they watch this performance of Pink Floyd at Live8 - their first time back together in like 20 years when Gilmour & Waters had a falling out. Only something as significant as world poverty could finally bring them together if only for 30 minutes and 4 songs.
