1.5 oz BACARDI Rum
12 fresh spearmint leaves
1/2 lime
7 oz club soda
2 tbsp. simple syrup

5. Please please pretty please not Bacardi

They're righties who support the insane embargo on Cuba and are said to have basically written the obscene Helms-Burton Act, all because Castro nationalized their original distillery way back when, so they had to set up shop in P.R. Memo: It's 2006. Get over it!

I have recently had good results with Cruzan from the Virgin Islands (with Coke, mind you, nothing as complicated as mojitos): actually cheaper than Bacardi, and more flavorful.

And I love Bacardi O with club and a slice of orange.

Oh and no one should ever, ever try the Captain Morgan White. It's supposed to be like Bacardi, but that shit is harsh. I can drink almost anything and I could barely down that shit. I've never seen it in the states, though. We bought it for New Year's pre-gaming in Montreal.
