7. Here
How can you can identify an emo kid:
Black, thick framed glasses
An extra small t-shirt/cardigan
Pretty tight pants
Converse All Star shoes/hightops
Possibly a studded belt
Usually carrying around some notebook/poetry book/messenger bag

First of all, emo = emotional.
Your typical emo kid is usually sad, upset, maybe angry and the world. They always talk about heartbreak. Always about misfortunes, and never see the upside to things. In short, emo kids are emotional.

That kid who sits under the tree writing poems about the girlfriend he lost in grade 4.

Only knowing 6 chords he can play everything Slipknot has recorded.
As far as evil goes, he just loves to shock people. I just wish he could channel that energy for more constructive purposes.
He'll love this post!

pre-Marilyn Manson and industrial music, that is. I'm thinking Siouxsie, the Cure, Sisters of Mercy and Christian Death-type kids.

But it's another sad teenage fad that will look as ridiculous in 20 years as the mullet does now.

54. From 1987-1988, yes
after that I found them a bit tedious. I just wish Johnny Marr would get his shit together and start a proper band of his own. HE was the talented one in the group, IMHO, and I really hate to see him relegated to sideman status, or the production chair. He's an enormously talented guitarist who needs to be heard in his own setting.

74. It's music like this as to why I like underground metal.
The whiny sobbery vocals, the cry-worthy lyrics, the weak guitar sound, the Robert Smith-Meets-Every-Member-of-Norma-Jean look . . . I . . .no.

83. looks like an Oasis cloning project that went horribly wrong
now they roam the Earth drunk, pissed off, and grumbling angrily at all those bloody wankers.

86. Are there no non-conformist emos who part their hair the other way
so their right eye can see?

How strange that the right eye is always covered. Is there some symbolism there?

Where did this look come from anyway, is it goth morphed?
