11. You know what
I, too, missed Perreault's artistry on the ice and his rink-length rushes...but I think he's been reborn as Maxim Afinegenov. That guy flies down the ice and he dekes defensemen out of their skates. He's the real deal.

The new NHL rules have really opened up the game and returned to the way it used to be.

We also have to battle one-sided refs it appears. Philly never gets enough respect. Fans in cities all over do nasty things, yet Philly gets blamed.

Completely unfair! I'm getting off because I'm so mad right now. Refs helped the Sabres so much. Ridiculous!

I hope Hitchcock complains and also mentions how they've been screwing the Flyers from the 70s. I don't care about the fallout.

43. Never win anything?
In your lifetime you've seen the Phillies win the World Series, the Sixers win the NBA Title and the Flyers win two consecutive Stanley Cups. You spoiled brat you!

Now if you're talking about Buffalo... there's a town that never wins anything. Heck, they're lucky to even have professional sports franchises. And if it was the officiating that upset you this evening, just think how upset everyone was when the officials allowed Brett Hull's goal when his foot was clearly in the crease back in '99.

Buona notte! :-)

have only been in Philly for 15 years. So I haven't seen any of it. Just wanted to make things clear. It seems that all 4-sport teams have won something since 1983.

I'll give you that Desjardins and Nedved had bad games, now that I've calmed down.

46. With the new NHL rules...
it's so easy to feel cheated. That stick to Knuble was missed horribly, while little things are called. It makes you expect a penalty or feel that your team has gotten too many more than the other team. The clutching and grabbing had gotten out of hand, but the NHL over-compensated.

Anyway, here's another go Flyers! I still have hope for you, especially if Esche keeps playing well.

I was AT the game...officiating was so-so at best....for every missed call on the Sabres, there were three missed Flyers calls....they were hacking and chopping at Buffalo's forwards like they were frickin woodsmen. And one more thing...

HOW MANY GODDAMN TIMES DOES PHILLY NEED TO HAVE SIX GUYS ON THE ICE BEFORE THE REFS CALL SOMETHING?

Actually, I can't complain at all....first Sabres playoff game I've seen in 23 years and it was AWESOME.

51. Well, that was sad
While I still didn't like the refereeing, the Flyers certainly lost fair and square tonight. They had a problem throughout the year with consistency, and it looks like the playoffs are no different. I admit that Buffalo's going to win this series - Philly might win a couple, but I don't even think they have the consistency to sweep at home - even if they win one in Buffalo.

Bobby Clarke needs to understand the importance of speed in today's game. And without Primeau, no one has stepped up to be a leader.

Edited on Mon Apr-24-06 09:09 PM by devilgrrl
made it home for the intermission between the 2nd & 3rd, missed a cheesy hit that was leveled out then the broadcasting network decided to switch to the Devils/Rangers game!

:wtf:  :grr:

The game was also being air on another station but was blacked out for whatever reason... 3/4 into the 3rd period they finally switch the Flyers/Sabres game :mad::mad: and the only goal I saw was Pomenville's. I can't believe they switched games without notice, I am so outraged! :grr::grr::grr:

But I really can see the writing on the wall. I was mad at the officials the first game (not the hit on Umberger - which was legal - but phantom calls on the Flyers,) but tonight, the Flyers were just the worst team.

If the Flyers start out flat at home, then it REALLY will be over. :hi:
