Only on a layover on an IcelandAir flight from MSP to London/Gatwick. We landed at night, and it was raining. All I could see was the moss covered ground during the lightning flashes (Iceland is above the tree line, and consequently grass doesn't grow there very well).
I hope to go back one day.

Not one damn dime of my tourism dollars to them.
I know, I know...I just can't help it.

it is very beautiful.
Natural wonders - glaciers, natural hot springs for bathing, volcanos
And Rejavik is a small compact city with everything.
The air is very clear - my allergies were gone after the second day there.
And the seafood is the best I have ever had.
We brought back 2 bottles of Brennavin to remember Iceland

There was some special, roundtrip from MSP and hotel for a few hundred bucks. I quite enjoyed it; everything is geothermally heated and the buildings are properly insulated so even though I went in November it was pleasantly toasty at night.
(I'm comparing to New Zealand--Dunedin specifically, the temp's there are usually about 45 degrees outside, and 51 inside. Rather than insulate the buildings or install multi-pane windows everybody just deals with it.)
The Blue Lagoon outside Reykjavik is well worth the trip. :)

not many know this, but their Gov't bonds are smokin' hot buy right now-- the ones I'm looking at yield 9.8%
The downside of course is there's not a lot of commission in this so your broker will resist the notion, plus the reason the yield is so high is that the underlying principal is pretty depressed. However, a foreign government bond at a 9.8% yield with more safety than US bonds look great on paper.
