The 2007 (don't ask) Honda Fit 33-38 mpg (Yes, it's raining in NoCal again.) Go to the website to see the nifty seat configuration. http://automobiles.honda.com/models/model_overview.asp?ModelName=Fit

How cool is your new car!
Did you keep the convertible?
Or is this one your only car now?
Anyhoo, congrats!

5. Truck gone. Convertible gone. |
|
I'm a one car gal.
The truck wasn't paying for itself and it only got 21 to 27 mpg. The convertible was 8 years old and heading toward 100,000 miles, but still had a pretty high resale value. This little puppy is my interim answer (10 years or so) until someone actually comes up with a vehicle that uses renewable energy.
Sigh. Midlife crisis over. I'm back to being practical.

4. Nice ride! I like the "MANLY" tag |
|
I know, not yours. Just struck me as funny. I hope to see these everywhere with that mileage and the low price. Plus...it's a frikkin HONDA...talk about reliability and resale value!

got 7 of them in and they went out the door as fast as they came in. I had to beat off several people while we were doing the paper work on my car. This one is the basic model, four cylinder, five speed manual. It's got so much zip, it's scary.

There was a thread the other day which first showed me this car. I drive a PR5 (Mazda) so I do like the sportwagon-esque, high mpg rides, and the Fit really caught my eye.

But to get the cruise control and the ABS, I had to take the moon roof and the spoilers, even though the cc and ABS were listed as individual options. I got pissed and started looking again. By that time, they had released info on the Fit. I check out the website and called the dealer, drove over and put my name on a contract... then waited a month and a half. I was afraid it might be a little small. Not. I'm amazed at the head room and leg room in the second seats. And then you fold down or up the back seats and there's tons of carrying space.
The basic model doesn't come with cruise control, but ABS is standard on both models. I compromised a bit on size and still didn't get cruise, but I got ABS, better mileage and it costs less. This has side window air curtains (or whatever the proper term is). Lots of safety features, which means insurance discounts.

I hadn't thought about the Manly. They are such a huge presence here, one never thinks twice about the name. :)
