Where the wind comes sweeping down the plain...
...it's already looking like a bad tornado season is in store for the Midwest.

5. I hear ya. We spent many tense afternoons and evenings...
...in the bedroom closet, when I was a kid, in Oklahoma. I remember when the sky would take on that greenish-gray cast and the clouds would turn black. My stomach would start grinding with fear. :scared:

4. I can understand how scary that was for you.
I grew up in a basement-less house, in Oklahoma, and that was bad enough. Trailers are tornado magnets or so it seems.

I'll tell you what: I think we're going to start seeing tornadoes occurring outside of the traditional "tornado alley," far more frequently than we have in the past. And I'm guessing that they'll be relatively intense storms, too. Out here in Tucson, we've had the occasional funnel cloud but it's always been considered an anomaly. I have a nagging feeling that some of these weather patterns are going to be changing, and not for the better. :(

9. No Oklahoma childhood is complete without tornado horror stories
They scared me to death when I was young, and where I lived they came through every spring. I remember some times it seemed like we had tornado warnings every day...No wonder I have stomach problems now.
