I decided to clean out my ignore list.
How often, if ever, do you do this?

1. I've never done it.
Because I've never put anyone on ignore, except maybe accidentally, in which case I take them off immediately.

2. General amnesty huh?
I did that once. I found most of the names on my ignore list had been tombstoned, the others quickly re-earned their place on my list.

7. Not amnesty, more like surveillance.
I love me a good train wreck. :)

21. Indeed! There Are Some Who Are Very Deserving...
... but despite that, it's better to be able to keep an eye on them.

3. At most, a couple of weeks after putting someone on it
I suck at staying angry with people.

Although I just re-peopled it this afternoon for the next couple weeks. ;)

4. I put Ben Burch on ignore once...
Edited on Tue Apr-25-06 12:18 PM by Iniquitous Bunny
Then I realized my mistake and took him off. I sure hope he didn't get pissed and put me on his ignore list (probably not as I haven't been around here for long). Still though, maybe if he checks his list, it might be a good idea. No?

18. Once, Maybe Twice A Year... I'll Review My Ignore List...
... to see if I can recall the reason why I put someone on it in the first place. If I can't recall the reason, then I'll take them off ignore. If I do recall the reason, then they'll probably stay on ignore.

Sometimes I'll un-ignore someone, and then within a day or two, I'll be "treated" to a post which reminds me of why that person was on ignore to begin with... and I'll quickly add to the ignore list again.

My ignore list has a few categories: assholes, jerks, bigots, psycho's, liars, backstabbers, and children.

22. Have you ever taken someone off of ignore only to find out they have
been banned? That happened to me a couple of times. I always feel justified then and free all the other ignorees in celebration of my good sense. ;)

19. I ignore only the ones who merely repeat themselves.
When I think I can predict their response merely by rereading something upthread, it's ignore time. There's about five at a time. After a month or two, I assume they have a new talking point. Usually, I'm wrong.

23. I never put anyone on ignore
It's much harder to perpetuate flame wars if you can't see the posts that cause them.

24. No one has ever annoyed me enough for me to put them on ignore.
I've never used it but I do have a question about it.

Does the person put on 'ignore' know they are being ignored?

...I think somebody was on my list for a short time, but I can't even remember the person or the circumstances now.

27. I've had one person on ignore, it was Skinner and
I don't know how (probably one of these jesters in the lounge putting in a link) he doesn't show up ignored anyway so it didn't matter. It was a surprise though.

28. I only have one name on my list
However, my ignore thread list is pretty massive. I find it easier to ignore threads than to ignore people
