Fortunately, I have NO PLANS WHATSOEVER to go into ANY math OR science field. Give me history, please, or English/writing/literature, or Latin, or any other foreign language. Leave the numbers to the next guy.

but to do so, you had to learn to count in base 12, what would you say? :P
(Because you can do that)

Irk: from Middle English irken from Old Norse yrkja in turn derived from Proto-Germanic *urkja from Proto-Indo-European *urg-yos suffixed zero-grade of root *werg- meaning "work" or "action."
The definition of action, yep, that's me! :D

So, I'll use "bastard" instead.
Possible translations include: *tu yewesne si: *tu es-si: n.yewes *tu n.yewes-sunu: es-si:
Or other permuations of above words.
(In case you're wondering, I am *really* fuckin' bored right now. :freak:)

We've done, goodness, all sorts of shit. Triangles--I had to know ALL the congruence properties. :argh: Circles, damn them. Considerable work with angles. And, oh, proofs, truly evil incarnate. :grr::grr: Now we're into basic trig--tangent, sine, cosine. Like I GIVE a SHIT about that FUCKING nonsense! :grr:

But sines and cosines are my bestest friends these days. Even when I'm writing fiction because I keep trying to make sure that my SF has a sense of plausibility, and that means having a sense of scale. Most SF writers seem to think that traversing 45,000 light years or so would be simply a matter of hours. Bastids. :grr:

Give me historical fiction or fantasy any day. I much prefer the past to the future. NOT that sci-fi can't be very good, of course. But it usually weirds me out. :scared:

(I'm using that in the "speculative fiction" sense, to include both fantasy and science fiction) is hard, especially as it gets detailed because you want to make sure your conculture and society are outlandish but not so much so to make it unbelievable, but not so detailed as to have to resort to Mr. Exposition charaters or "as you know" speeches ("As you know, we've been traveling faster than light for 300 years now." "Of course I know that ya bastid! Why are you telling me?").
