I wouldn't have cared if the Orioles had won tonight but because they didn't I want all the other teams to lose ;). By the way who taught Corey Patterson how to hit? The dude swings at everything.

Man that game sucked for us tonight. Gibby hits a two run homer in the top of the inning. We force out a bunt attempt than all hell breaks loose. We're still a game above 500 but the way things are going I think by the end of the summer we'll be 20 games below. Sigh there's always football where at least my team has a class act for an owner.

|
Edited on Tue Apr-25-06 11:21 PM by WeRQ4U
Nor have they spent countless years as their home city's redheaded stepchild that noone cared about until they won a world series for the first time in 90 years... present company excluded. ;-)
Oh, and we're working on the dome thing.

I live down in Champaign and I did notice that this year's collection of Freshman seem to have a lot more White Sox hats than Last year's set did.

Don't you just hate that? You obviously suffered through the years of dissapointment, and it's got to piss you off that they most likely did not.

33. Ummm actually, I have a semi-embarassing confession to make |
|
I am from Pittsburgh, my father from Minneapolis incidentally. He was a White Sox fan, and as a kid a pennant from a game he went to back in 1958 hung on the wall of my bedroom. He taught my brother and me that the Sox were way cooler than the Cubs. In the spring of 2004, I learned that I would be moving to Champaign IL, and when I got here in August, I realized that the townies were all Cardinals fans and the Students were all Cubs fans. I decided that it was time to revive my family's tradition of Sox fan-dom out of spite. The kind of embarassing thing is that except for a few months at the end of the 2004 season, I never did have to deal with much disappointment. From Pittsburgh it was not the case that I was really a fan but a well-wisher. Once I moved, I began following them closely. The thing is that I never had to deal with a bad season. As soon as I was in an area where I could watch them on TV, they started kicking ass! It is as though I came across a miraculous stroke of fortune. In fact, as a long time Steelers fan, I must confess that the last 12 months have been the greatest time in my life as a sports fan.

34. That's just dumb luck. |

I, on the other hand, have dealt with nothing but diasappointment as a professional sports fan. Other than the two world series wins in 87 and 91, I have seen nothing but failure.
