Hearts (the card game)
If you know how to play the game, you'll know what I'm talking about.

I was over at MSN games playing hearts When one of the players shot the moon. The next hand the same player received 24 points & I commented that was a moon tax. The next hand the same person received 18 points & I commented that was Bush's tax plan. Well the very next hand this person got the queen again & I commented you must be on the Republican plan!

The next game same players. They were trying to gang up on me (come to find out I had a table of fundies! I shot the moon 3 times in a row & commented that the Democrats plan for Bush supporters. They all quit & left!

Was it something I said?

Holy shit, Batman!

One of my friends and his college buddies get together every year for what is known as "Mr. Card." This year is "Mr. Card XX". It is basically an excuse to get together with friends, drink a lot of beer (and Jagermeister), and play cards. "Hearts" is one of the main games (along with "Oh Hell". Somehow I am now involved in this foolishness and I have been playing "Hearts" like crazy on the computer.

How is the competition over at MSN games?

On edit: You Rock!! :headbang:

3. competition is pretty good
Sometimes you get a table where the opther people don't have a clue, but most of the time you get some good players.

Shooting the moon is not all that hard, you just have to know what your doing on the pass. B-)

4. Hearts confuses and confounds me (so does Crib)
I just stick to Texas Hold'em.

I'm currently trying to play myself into the WSOP via a satellite tourney and doing OK so far. I'm in the final tourney which will be held at the end of May. Winner gets a seat at the main event ($10K buy in) plus expenses.

we used a real deck of cards though
and we sat at a table...
you know "the old fashioned way"

6. When I was in the Navy we played Spades almost every night
Those were some great games. We played Hearts once in awhile, but Spades was the game everyone loved to play.
