instead of a RANT...I would like to dedicate this song
to a patient I had in the ER last night....

Time, time and again I see you staring down at me
Now, then and again I wonder what it is that you see
With those angry eyes
Well, I bet you wish you could cut me down
With those angry eyes

You want to believe that I am not the same as you
And now I can’t conceive, oh lord, of what it is you’re trying to do
With those angry eyes
Well, I bet you wish you could cut me down
With those angry eyes
What a shot you could be if you could shoot at me
With those angry eyes

You and I must start to realize
Blindness binds us in a false disguise
Can you see me through those angry eyes?

You try to defend that you are not the one to blame
But I’m finding it hard, my friend, when I ’m in the deadly aim
Of those angry eyes
Well, I bet you wish you could cut me down
With those angry eyes
What a shot you could be if you could shoot at me
With those angry eyes

5. Me too
Used to do that tune in our little garage jam band. It was actually pretty difficult-- we did the long version, with all the different vamps. To do it right, the lowest string on the guitar and bass should be tuned down to a low D. (Unless your bassist plays a 5-string, but they weren't common in the '70s.) We also did "Your Mama Don't Dance," but that was trivial by comparison.

Jim Messina actually rocks. Before the partnership with Kenny Loggins, he formed Poco with Richie Furay (ex-Buffalo Springfield) and they were really good as long as he was in the band (first three records).

8. actually...it was NOT my patient except in the repect that all
the people who come into the ER are my patients...long story short...He is mentally retarded/mentally ill and we were understaffed and...holy shit.... I really don't think I can post it because I think the shit could leave my hospital open to a law suit. It is afucked up situation. He came in yesterday at 2pm and he was still there when I left this morning. He was dropped off by the staff of his group home and I think they are liable and should be held accountable. He was placed in restraints for over 12 hours (there were still on when I left this morning) and injected with copious amounts of haldol, thorazine, benadryl and ativan. Where WAS the staff??? Our ER is NOT staffed to deal with it....the nurse in charge of the room was laughing about this shit...

I can NOT go on about this...

I have GOT to find another JOB

9. Yuck!
We don't restrain our loonies here, we let 'em play lead guitar in the band :P

Seriously, that sucks that you guys, who undoubtedly have enough else to do, have to fill in for the chickenshits whose job it is to take care of this loony. But this is the fallout from the Reagan era deinstitutionalization swindle, part of the Repuke master plan of socializing risk while privatizing profit.

But you knew that, I'm sure. Now we'll have to take this discussion over to the Dead Kennedys thread.
