:patriot:
Whatever you think about the criminality of marijuana, cannibis, pot, reefers, spleefs, grass, weed, doobies, joints, mary jane or wacky tobaccy, it is illegal here and this state enforces its drug laws with the Ohio Highway Patrol keeping sniffing dogs in their police cars. A major N-S interstate runs through this county and right down to Mexico. The procedure for detecting a runner of marijuana is the same as for a runner of smack, so I would appreciate it if no one wasted my time by getting caught running pot when what I really want to prosecute is runners of blow and crystal.

12. Wow I live here and never knew that |
|
Edited on Wed Apr-26-06 01:16 PM by OhioBlues
I moved from Colorado where it used to be a misdemeanor and a ticket. I don't smoke so I guess I didn't need to know that though.
On edit: Applicable to runners only, is that correct?

15. Possession of MJ is either a misd. or a traffic ticket depending ... |
|
... on the city. Transporting it for sale is a felony, the degree of which depends on the amount. I've seen everything from a few pounds (F-3, max 5 years) to 100 lb. bails (F-1 with major drug spec., mandatory ten years). The degrees are a lot worse for cocaine with simple possession being an F-5. Selling a tiny amount of MJ twice would be a apir of F-5s with a presumption for probation except that it is a corrupt activity under Ohio's mini-RICO which makes it an F-1.

13. A whole lot of Detroiters get busted by the Ohio state police |
|
Mostly for cocaine running up and down I-75.
My dad always said never speed in Ohio, Georgia or Florida, because their state troopers are serious. Michigan state police are tough, but they are always polite. I heard that in Ohio, you have to pay cash for your ticket on the spot.

|
I've never heard of a requirement for on-the spot payment. Anyway, since you have a right to insist on a traffic court hearing, I can't see how it would be possible.

These are the Ohio marijuana possession laws. How do they fit in? I'm being serious-how does this work with what you are saying? http://www.norml.org/index.cfm?wtm_view=&Group_ID=4557

31. Actually, I think you answered it earlier |
|
What you're talking about is how strictly they crackdown on marijuana transportation, not just possession.
According to NORML, Ohio's possession laws are pretty relaxed. I didn't know that about the transportation laws though.

Though if you grind it down to a powder (including stems) you can get a lot more bang for you buck...and it is good for you too.

Old boyfriend, a couple other friends and I make a batch... we're like 17 at the time... no one home at his house, but mom and sister due back. He wants to leave the brownies in the kitchen! I say, hell no! He says, bah, they are on a diet and won't touch them. Pft! I say. Woman on a diet + a pan of brownies = pig out!
A few hours later his mom is knocking on his door saying she's taking sis to the emergency room... she thinks she is having a breakdown of some kind! BWAAAAHAHAHHAHAHA! We listen for them to leave and go check the brownies... we each had one or two... sis ate about five!
The ER Doc told her she was stressed... and that her blood pressure was really low... hahahaha!
Oh, man. Those were the days!
I've always thought pot was the perfect medicine for lowering blood pressure!

20. I have a similar story.. |
|
My husband's best friend ate 4 of them at a BBQ we had a couple years ago. He didn't know there was pot in them and he was FREAKING OUT because he thought there was something seriously wrong with him. He's known for being notoriously greedy and he's always been teased about it so no one wanted to tell him they were pot brownies because they wanted to teach him a lesson (especially since we only had about 12 to begin with and there were easily 50 people at this BBQ). I finally fessed up to him because I felt bad for him (bleeding heart that I am). Now he always asks before he starts gobbling up all our desserts.

I mistakenly ate one before work one day, not knowing it was a pot brownie. (That's what I get for stealing a brownie that I fell out of my husband's coat pocket.) Holy shit, I was high half the day.

But then again, I almost always smoked from bowls, bats, and bongs and very rarely from joints, so maybe I'm different from most there.

My brownie story, back in the seventies when the world was civilized more or less, a friend of mine was an unemployed concrete worker, there being very little concrete work done in January. Living in the same small town I hung out at his house about everyday, one day he had just bought a 1/4 pound and we were toking away when the munchies hit. His girlfriend was going to bake up a batch of brownies, he told her wait a minute, got out an ounce and started putting a little bit in the blender to chop it fine, then he said aw fuck it and put the whole oz in. We baked up a batch of brownies, me, him, and his girlfriend ate the whole pan, I was stoned to the bone for hours and hours. I went home about ten that night and there were a bunch of redneck farm boys hanging on their corner, I usually avoided these guys they would've been freepers back then, but, I smiled and sailed right on past peace man. Shit i was stoned.

edit: For someone using MJ for true medicinal purposes the brownies are a godsend. If they can't smoke because of oxygen or chemo or whatever being able to eat it really helps.
