We usually have baby skunks by now but it's been so wet, I haven't seen any. I hope I do - they're so darn cute!

2. Too damn cute, they are! |
|
Ours seem to have dark fur when they're tiny and then grow lighter ... unless they're actually a completely different type of squirrel

3. I have a baby squirrel living in a vine on the side of my house! |
|
His name is Dodger and his mom is named Georgie. My cat caught him twice already (the cat was on the fenced patio and Mr. CB cuaght the cat and made him drop the squirrel.) He also survived a surprise trip down a 2-story drainpipe from the roof. He is one lucky squirrel.
There is a baby bunny who is living at the farm where I keep my horse. It is so cute! I can get within 10 feet of it! I see lots of grown up bunnies in the same area so it must be one of their bunny babies!
The baby Canadian geese have been hatched and baby turtles are abundant in outr local ponds and rivers!

I remember seeing baby turtles a lot when I worked in the nature program at a summer camp. And a baby newt (Red Eft).

11. We have a baby turtle in our fish tank right now. |

Mr. CB rescued it from a snapping turtle that was eating baby sliders at a lake at a golf course. We'll take him back to the lake when he's bigger. :)
I had a newt once. It was cute! It had one eye and we called it Newt Gingrich. ;)

I used to have a red-eared slider named Nanashi ("no-name"). He was such a sweetie. He never tried to bite and tolerated just about everything. He was with me when I worked at the camp, and he was always fine being petted by strangers.
Unfortunatly, I had to give him away before I went to college. He's living with a friend of the family now and is spoiled by their two kids. :)
When I was growing up, newts were the only "creepy" (acording to my mom) pets I was allowed to have. If I had my way, I'd have had snakes :3

14. There is a 4 foot long black rat snake living under my office. |
|
It had babies a few years ago! The babies look and act like baby ratttle snakes for protection. They turn dark in color when they grow up.
Your Nanashi turtle sounds like he was cool! I love turtles. :)

8. I've started saying that a lot in real life, |

and I always sound it out. It's a good warning to people around me that the next words out of my mouth are likely to be completely irrelevant. :D
