Is anything on TV tonight? My hotel is a laugh riot.
I'm in another post-post-modern hipster dipshit hotel, this time in New York. I must really like this kind of place because I so often end up on one, like the Standard in Hollywood where I was approached more than once to write screenplays for the projects of hipster dipshit producers (is everyone in Hollywood an ersatz producer ((real producers aside, of course))? If so, please tell everyone in Hollywood that I'm not a screenwriter - I think I'm probably just a post-post-hipster modern dipshit).

And I stayed at both the Alexis and the Watertown in Seattle within the past couple of years.

I do love my little room on the 23rd floor with its many channels (is anything on TV tonight? I don't usually watch it, but this is a special occasion - I'm in a hotel!), its wi-fi Interwebs, its custom-bottled water (when New York City's water system is reputed to produce the finest tap water in the world), the multitude of bar and restaurant options in the firmament below, the view of what remains of the west side between me and the Hudson, then of course the Hudson itself and what resides beyond (I rode the train in from somewhere out there this afternoon).

I need to snap some disposable camera pics of the tiny but so nicely done post-post-modern bathroom before I leave for the burgeoning idea-farm that will feed my own coming bathroom remodel/addition projects.

A deejay usually shows up around 10 or 10:30 at one of the bars. But I need some sleep tonight and full attention for the conference tomorrow.

Is anything on TV tonight?

11. Yeah, I just flipped over to that channel.
They've got a clever panel of people who are taking turns substituting the work "lesbian" for words in movie titles.

Fast-paced and hard-hitting!

2. Still laughing at the post-post-modern hipster dipshit hotel.
We have some here in SF too, hipster dipshit capital of the world.

Rent a movie if you must stay in.

10. I usually stay at traditional corporate hotels in SF,
though I have eaten at hipster dipshit restaurants like the Grand Cafe and Farralon.

Sad to say the first hotel I stayed at in SF, the Hotel Californian in the Tenderloin, is long gone.

What part of town are you in?

18. Starts off as a standard plane crashed on a desert island situation...
But then weird shit starts happening on the island. A lot of mystery and a little weird sci-fi/sorta surreal type stuff. Actually a pretty good show. I hardly watch TV at all, aside from that.

19. I think it's time to visit the disco for a minute
to see if they have any good sleepy-time beers.

The fancy restaurant had only shit for beers (Heineken, Sam Adams, etc.), though the wines were great.

I need a nice pint of strong ale and a hepped up house beat to send me off to never never land good and proper.

22. Thank you.
I now surf in search.

The disco was feebish, though there was a lot of free-range strange grazing.

Can't say much for a waitron that doesn't know a bourbon with a beer back, but must give snaps to Brooklyn Brown Ale.

24. I love Brooklyn Brown Ale
Edited on Wed Apr-26-06 11:37 PM by tigereye
and you get to drink it somewhat close to Brooklyn!

These phrases caught my eye:
post-post-hipster modern dipshit
good sleepy-time beers
free-range strange grazing.

you missed your calling as a poet, I fear. ;) Were my brain not an amorphous mass, I would make these phrases into a haiku.

Night night. Have fun at your con. I was at a big head deal today and more to come tomorrow and my brain is very, very fried.

26. Yeah, that's still there. I'll try for beers there maybe.
Clearly this joint is past its moment.

So after jazz tomorrow, I go upstairs and bug roadblock, right? I guess he knows from a bourbon with a beer back.

pm me if there are alternat instructions.

Thanks for the welcome and for the beautiful arrival day.
