Poll question: Poll question: Best all-time quarterback - PART DEUX |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-27-06 12:52 AM by Seabiscuit
OK, in the first poll, under "other", people mentioned quite a few great quarterbacks that couldn't be listed in such a small poll. In fact, there could be four or five such polls (e.g. top 50 QB's).
But I'm going to limit it to one more: Part Deux below.
Once this one has run its course there will be a run-off between the top 5 in the first poll and the top 5 in this second poll.
Someone has to do the initial weeding out, and unfortunately for some, c'est moi. I tried to gauge the amount of enthusiasm for the 16 "other" QB's mentioned in the first poll, as well as the frequency of their names being mentioned, plus, of course, my personal preferences, and the following 6 unfortunately didn't make Part Deux, although perhaps they should have:
Earl Morrall, Joe Namath, Brian Sipe, Boomer Esiason, Jim Plunkett and Norm Von Brocklin.
Have fun!

1. Where's Babe Parelli and Marty Domres? |
|
Just kidding!! But in regard to the choices on your poll, I'll have to go with Johnny U! He was so good for so long.

3. Well, I don't know how you can leave Brady out. |

Just on the strength of his SuperBowl Record and age. Certainly, if Peyton Manning is on your list, you can't not have Brady.
But my favorite all-time QB (who never won a SB) was Roman Gabrial. Why? He was just a great prototypical QB in the 60's that had a great arm. Plus he was always on the CBS 2nd game...they always broadcast the Rams back then.
Oh, I see what your doing.....sorry for not reading your post clearly...

was an underappreciated, and underrated quarterback, but one of the greats nonetheless. I still think he holds the record for 23 out of 24 completions in a game.

Steve Young's on here, but Joe's not? Gimme a freaking break. On edit: My bad, I didn't see the first poll.

10. I'm in San Diego and watched him two games a year... |

take the Chargers apart! He could do it with his arm, legs, strength and mind. With little in the support roles, IMA. Its a shame he's such a freeper.

Don't argue with me...if you lived in the DC area from 1964-74, you know what I'm talkin' about...I still can't believe it--Allen benched Sonny for *Billy Kilmer*???...he didn't deserve to win a &*^%$#@ Super Bowl...

A secondary alltime QB thread and four wipeouts? Literally 1000/1 odds on that, or higher.
