I spit oatmeal on the baby and the cat
-part of the ongoing OATMEAL series-

So I am sitting there watching The Daily Show I taped from last night eating my oatmeal. The girl cat is on my lap and our baby girl is in the exersaucer gumming an Elmo doll about 4 feet away. I am watching the segment about Congress when Ed Helms is interviewing a Representative from Oregon and he says "I know what will get you unre-elected"...reaches down and pulls out a "Gimp mask". He puts it on that the screen cuts to

except instead of a puppy dog it featured a guy in a suit and a Gimp mask (the electrical cord was going in another direction too)

I did basically a spit take and out came part of the mouthful of oatmeal I was eating. Don't worry it wasn't piping hot or anything.

One bit fell on the cat (I had to chase down and clean)

and one miraculous bit flew up and up and up-at this point I realized where it was heading but couldn't move as the cat was still on my lap- I looked and my oh so bright 9 month old daughter was actually watching it, tracking it through the air.

Down down down it came.

She didn't move. No fear in that kid.

SPLAT!

right between her eyes on her forehead.

She blinked and just looked at me and then gave me a two toothed grin and started laughing. I was laughing so hard it hurt. Hurt more than the clawing the cat did trying to get away from me.

OW!

-This concludes this edition of the OATMEAL series-
