Do you "sleep" with every person with whom you fall in love? |

1. Pretty much. (Before I met my husband.) |
|
I know you're joking, but yeah, only 2 people I was ever in love with didn't want to have a sexual relationship with me, back before I met my husband.
I still fall in love with people, but not to the detriment of my marriage. It's natural to have crushes, and even to have "in love" feelings for other people, even if you're married. I just choose not to pursue inappropriate relationships. I look at it as a chance to celebrate whatever qualities are so inspiring in that person in a more general way, and a chance to do some healthy flirting, and a chance to bring some residual energy home to my darling sweetheart.

5. I know. I came in at 5:30 this morning. So now I'm taking a little break |
|
I love my new job, but I'm very busy. And if I don't leave the office, I have a working lunch, so no more lunchtime lounging.
But often, I go have lunch with my son in the park, so that's awesome.
Usually, I have long mornings at home with my son as well, but I'm in a serious crunch today, so I left the house before he woke up.
My coworkers are great. I feel confident about my performance so far, and my superiors are happy with me. In fact, I'm being treated like gold for the most part, and my observations are taken very seriously.
They really felt that things weren't working before, so I have loads of freedom to structure things in a way that makes sense to me. It's a lot of work right now, because I'm building all the Development and Communications systems from scratch essentially (within some parameters) but once I have everything in place, it will just be a matter of maintenance.
This is really an awesome organization. I feel really privileged to be here, actually. Everyday I learn more about the programs and services we provide and I just think how lucky I am that I can contribute to that just by coming to work and doing my best.
Thanks so much for asking.

It is great when the workplace "clicks" with where you want to be. The pain of your last position really came through in your posts about it and it is good to hear you sounding so happy. How's your son doing? I bet he's getting big!

He is huge! He's 19 mo. and towers over most 2-year-olds. He's saying new words every day. I hope he'll be ready for daycare when he turns 2. He'll need to be potty-trained and expressive and sufficiently social. Otherwise he'll have to wait a year to enroll. But he has to go at his own pace.

"celibate" implies intent. I abstain from sex simply because it takes two to tango, and I am only one... ;)

There's probably only one person I felt something for that I never did anything physical with. It kind of messed me up too. I'm a person who needs to be able to expres myself in that regard. I want it all.

32. Who needs to be in love? |

Sometimes I've not even known the name of people I've "slept" with.
Sex and love are not the same!
And I've been in love with people I never slept with. And never would want to sleep with.

37. now that you mention it |
|
First person I was ever in love with told me a few months after college graduation that she had feelings for me. By then she was 1,000 miles away and there were other reasons we never got together. She did visit that summer. I wasn't sure what the sleeping arrangements would be since we had never done anything together.
She came into the condo I shared and immediately put her bags in my bedroom.
We slept together that night but all we did was sleep, and hold each other. Nothing else ever happened between us. I still have fond but frustrating memories of that night 20 years ago
