Are you good at admitting your mistakes?
I have learned that people are very forgiving and if you can diffuse tension with humor, it's even better..

When I screw up, I usually say I am to blame and "Please take me out back and shoot me"..

So far no one has taken me up on the offer :scared:

How do you accept blame?

(As an old Mom, I can tell you young'uns this.. Take yer lumps and admit you were wrong, and do it sooner rather than later.. It earns you good will, and actually makes people trust you. If you are willing to admit you were wrong, people know they can trust your judgement more...not less)

3. I try to be
Some people make it easier than others. It's easy to admit a mistake to somebody who won't throw it back at you later and hard to do when it will be used as ammunition in a later argument.

5. I agree! Admit it, get it out of the way and don't
mention it again. Otherwise, why the heck should I put myself on the line? So it can be used against me time and time again? What your perfect and don't make any mistakes?? Whatever.

6. Yes, I am. I've even been known to rat myself out.
It's not fun, admitting I've made a mistake (and even worse, to have made a mistake in the first place), but I do it. And there have been a few times when I've discovered a mistake I've made that could have ripple effects, and I'll talk to the appropriate person, and also try to have a solution for the mistake when I talk to them.

8. I'm quite good at admitting my mistakes
If I make a mistake, I admit it.

What's the point of denying it?

10. Sometimes and sort of....the problem is
that because *I* am willing to admit mistakes, I find that sometimes others then become willing to let me take the fall and don't admit to their own.

12. I am, and I agree that humor is essential!
While it doesn't work in every situation, humor can really help smooth things over. :)

14. I wasn't when I was younger
But that changed somewhere.

Probably on or about Sept. 26, 1989.

A pre-emptive "I blew it; I'm sorry" will often turn away wrath, not to mention 'fessin' up when caught.
