Poll question: NFL Draft Day! What will Houston do with the #1 pick?
The team is considering picking a top defensive lineman or possibly trading the #1 pick for a group of players.
Reggie Bush should go #1, but where he ends up will only come to light tomorrow.

I have a feeling that Reggie Bush will end up a 49er via a trade, to be teamed up with his high school QB Alex Smith. He has stated that he really wants to play on the west coast.
Hell, he might even end up a Raider!

What will Houston do with the #1 pick?

1. They should take Bush
The other person they are considering is DE Mario Williams.

2. They'll take Reggie.
And I will refer to him as Reggie from here on out. His last name has been forever tainted.

4. He's a good kid. My son blocked for him in HS.
Helix HS. La Mesa CA.
Other Helix alumni include Bill Walton and Brian Sipe.

7. Yes he was.
My son tells me that Reggie is an awesome person, never looking down on people. Smith, he says, is an asshole. The "anti-Reggie.

9. CIF Champs two years. Lost in CIF final their last year.
My kid played on the last championship season. Blew his knee out the next year.

When Reggie got the ball it wasn't even fair! He averaged 260 yds rushing, 100 yds receiving and 40 yd punting a game his junior and senior years. Plus he started on defense as a cornerback! San Diego news crews would be at all of Helix HS's games just for Reggie's highlight footage. Unbelievable!

Alex Smith, on the other hand, was mediocre as a HS QB. Never threw more that 15 yds downfield. I was surprised that he did so well in college.

10. Wow!
Really, Smith was that bad? He was bad this year for SF. Was your kid a Guard Tackle or Center?

11. Not "bad" but unimpressive.
Probably due to the fact that Reggie got the ball 80% of the plays from scrimmage.
I watched take the ball 90 yds for TD on two consecutive touches,in one game. That plus a 75 yd interception return in between those touches.

13. They need more than a great RB.
Trading him would get a decent O-lineman, another "decent" RB and some defensive help.
Carr was sacked 68 times last season. Without blocking, they wont be able to move the ball.
I'm hoping they trade the pick. He's a west coast guy who wants to play out here.

and 1st and 2nd pick in round 3.
BTW, are you a Charger fan?

16. Yep. SD is my adopted city. Boston is my hometown.
Do the math and figure who my other favorite team is.

I wish the Spano's would sell the team to a local interest. They are tight with money (Alex Spanos is the 6th richest American), and they have been holding the fans hostage for years crying for the city to build them a new stadium. He want more luxury boxes and Qualcomm/Jack Murphy Stadium just doesnt have them and wants the city to pay for the WHOLE deal.

BTW, Spanos is a good friend of *W* and GHWB.
Cheap prick!

20. Red Sox fan since my birth in 1956.
Spanos has been threatening to move to team to LA, if they give him a stadium deal. LA isnt going for that, with TWO football-ready stadiums in the Rose Bowl and the Coliseum. He's also mentioned Sacramento and San Antonio as spots to move the team.

22. I dont think so. Spanos is just trying to bully the city.
I can see him selling the team to a local interest if the price is right.

Go Yankees??
The Horror! The Horror!

I have a feeling that Toronto will take the AL East this year.

24. As in Manning?
Good for both teams IMO. SD allready had Brees at that time. Philip Rivers will turn some heads this season.
I just dont feel that rookies who are drafted should whine themselves to the team of their choice.

25. Yes, Manning
The deal ended up being:
NYG get Eli: Led us to playoffs in year 2
SD gets Rivers: He will start this year, but has played what once?
gets: Keading- botched big playoff kick
Marriman: Defensive Rookie of the Year last year

26. Keading did choke but Marty has to take some of the blame.
For playing too conservatively and not getting the ball closer for the rookie kicker, in a playoff game.
Shit, the Jets all but gave the Bolts that game and they fucked it up!

to the Jets a week later. Then Kicker Doug Brein missed 2 FGs that whould have won it.

18. And Bush will win it legitamtely.
I have a sick feeling that Reggie may end up a RAIDER! Which is not one of his favorite teams being from San Diego.
Houston would benefit more trading that pick for tree decent players.
