if I moved back to Michigan? If you are better than me simply by virtue of the fact that you live in Michigan then logically everyone who lives in Michigan is better than everyone who does not live in Michigan. I should be able to refute that thesis in two words - Ted Nugent.

fact that it has a city called Kalamazoo.
When I was a kid, my parents liked to take long road trips and at some point, we went through Kalamazoo and the name stuck with me. There was a game that we played at school where you had to come up with the name of a city that started with the last letter of the city previously stated in the game.... when my turn came and I had to come up with a city name that started with the letter K, I said Kalamazoo and everyone thought I was making it up.
I said, "but but but....no, really, it's a place in Michigan. I saw it. It's for real."
To no avail. They didn't believe me.
I suggested that they look it up on a map.
Instead of looking it up for themselves and finding out that it actually existed, they insisted that I was making it up and taunted me relentlessly.
9 year olds can be such little bastards.
I wonder where they are now.
(My guess: either at Freeperville or at the 9/11 conspiracy sites.)

First weekend I moved into my home...two thugs walked into my garage in broad daylight. My father in law caught them removing the pins to my door....they were planning on coming back later to rob us.
I couldn't understand how my neighbors gushed about the great neighborhood. They were all older retirees and the home prices were in the upper 100's.
Two blocks away a child was stabbed to death.
There were NO sidewalks. None. No child could ride a bicycle in Grand Rapids.
Downtown was block upon block of burned out buildings. There is one little enclave of E Grand Rapids...but even that is just some ridiculously overpriced homes in a high crime area.
God. I spent 5 years there and I consider myself lucky to have escaped with my sanity.
